Jim Thome got on second base thanks to a Metrodome hit, and later scored on a throwing error by Jason Bartlett. That was just the first of two unearned runs that would be charged to Brad Radke, who pitched good enough to keep the team in the game. Unfortunately for Brad, the team didn’t want to be in the game.

The Twins just didn’t want to win this game. Only three different players got hits for the Twins, with two of the three getting 2 hits.

Radke threw 5 innings, gave up 3 runs with only 1 being earned, struck out 6 and gave up the homerun (solo).

Nick Punto went 2-for-4 with the Twins’ lone RBI of the game (an unearned run by the way).

Jason Tyner was the other player who had more than one hit, going 2-for-3 with a run scored.

Joe Mauer, Michael Cuddyer, and Justin Morneau combined to go 0-for-10 with a walk, two strikeouts, and a hit by pitch.

Johan Santana pitches in tomorrow’s afternoon game (1:10). I’m hoping he can give us 7 innings, 10 strikeouts, 0 walks, 4 hits, and 1 run (earned). Let’s see how close my predicted stat line is to the actual one in my next post.
