Carlos Silva had another quality start, going 6 innings and allowing just 3 runs on 6 hits. He walked one and struck out zero. It wouldn’t be enough as the Twins were shutout by Jose Contreras, who needed just 98 pitches to do so. Ron Gardenhire was ejected early in the game in an attempt to spark the team, but his effort was a waste: The team only got 4 hits after that.

Torii Hunter was hitless, ending his 23-game hitting streak. I’m rather superstitious when it comes to streaks and stuff like that, so I apologize for not talking about it while it was happening, but you know, I didn’t want to wreck it đŸ™‚

Jason Kubel was the lone offensive highlight, going 2-for-3 with a double.

It was just a pathetic game by a bunch of professionals. Johan Santana looks to set the team straight when he pitches tonight at 7:10.
