Two players could have won the game last night for the Twins: Boof Bonser, who pitched 7 innings and gave up just 3 hits and 1 run, while striking out 11 (a career-high) and walking just 1, and either Jeff Cirillo, who hit his first home run as a Twin (a 2-run shot in the 7th) or Torii Hunter, who hit his 8th career Grand Slam (2nd all-time for the Twins, behind only Harmon Killebrew) in the 3rd inning. Those two, combined with leadoff man Luis Castillo, were 6-for-13 with 6 runs scored, a walk, and 7 RBI.

Nick Punto played SS while Jason Bartlett got a rest, and because there is no DH when interleague games are played at an NL team’s home park, Cirillo played third.

Tonight’s game starts at 6:05 central time and we’ll have Scott Baker on the mound for his first start in the Majors this year.
